DIY: Busty Lady

November 3, 2011

Please excuse the cheeky post title; I couldn't resist. Remember the little bust I found at the antique fair last weekend? Well, she got a new coat of chartreuse spray paint. It was a bold move, and I realize I might get some slack and be quietly judged for my choice. I'm ok with that.
The picture composition was actually better for the before picture. Don't hold that against the "after".

I was hoping this post would also feature a lamp I found at Goodwill for $8. I had big dreams of Kyrlon magic...No such luck. Let's just say it was a big, runny, yellow mess. A SPRAY PAINT DISASTER that ended in tears and ice cream.

  1. I like the after much better but that's just me. She works much better with your decor now! Also, there's something about bright colored figurines that really make me happy! :)

  2. I really love her! This is exactly the kind of thing I would love to have but can't because it would disturb my husband completely. :)

  3. Once upon a time I had a new VW bug that I called a "busty lady." I really had hoped thats what this post was about :) BUT I do love the color you painted her. Such a fun pop for your mantle!

  7. OK ladies, I am feeling much less self-conscience about the bust now. She can hold her head up high on that mantle. Thanks for the validation!
