Eight Camping Must Haves

July 12, 2012

Hey there! It's Tan from Squirrelly Minds ready with some fun summer camping finds for you. The coming of summer fills my mind with the smell of campfire and pine needles. Being stuck in the woods or by the ocean, completely oblivious to time and the outside world. That is the ultimate escape. But that doesn't mean you should go without some camping comforts. Sure you'll need your essentials like your tent and sleeping bag, but what about those little extras that make your camping trip both fun and chic? Here's a list of my top 8 camping finds for a fun camping trip:
1. Glam up the campsite with these battery powered lanterns from Pier One Imports. Hang them off trees for an ethereal look. $14.40 each.
2. Bring some good old fashioned lawn games such as this fancy set from Bocce Ball Sets for $189.99. Don't worry you can find cheaper (and lighter) kid friendly options on the site.
3. Bring a vintage vibe to your camping trip with this battery powered copper lantern on Amazon for $14.99.
4. You need something to eat off so why not make it fun with these striped melamine dishes from Bed Bath & Beyond. $4.69 for the plates and bowls and $19.99 for the tray.
5. Rock out to music from your iPhone or iPod and amplify it with this gold megaphone from en&is. It's a steep 599€ with white and black available in slightly lower prices. It's okay, here's a cheaper version ($3.04) of essentially the same thing.
 6. Cook your hot dogs (or freshly caught fish?) on this adorable bbq grill from West Elm, on sale at $21.27.
7. Read up and be wilderness ready with this "Camping and Wilderness Survival" book by Paul Tawrell. Found at Target for $29.75.
8. Keep warm (and stylish) in the cool evenings with this woven wool blanket from The Bay for $150. Sadly I'll be too busy with wedding related business to camp this summer (*sigh*) so I'll have to live vicariously through you.

So tell me, who's going camping this summer?

  2. This are all great things but I've seen one to many bears so I'd use these in my backyard.

    1. Yikes! There are bears where I've gone camping but thankfully I've never run into one!
These are all most definitely back yard suitable ;)
